Traditional Snacks

Who doesn't love a good pork rind? It can be hard to find pork skin but, if you get your hands on some there is NO better way to use them than THIS recipe! It is great plain, seasoned, or with hot sauce! Best of all there are no yucky additives and you're getting a wonderful tasting high quality fat that will satiate you AND fill you up!

I happen to have some fancy Popsicle molds that are BPA free and nice and big. They came with a special holder that allows them to sit in the just right position while they freeze and they have a plastic handle that fits right into the mold. It takes less than 24 hrs. with these to have large, delicious popsicles that are customized to your own preferences!

But, you don’t have to have this fancy paraphernalia to make Popsicle for yourself and your family (although they are fairly cheap and worth it for hot summer days). You can just use little paper Dixie cups (think mouthwash disposables) from the store and wooden Popsicle sticks, they work just as well. You just line the cups up on a baking sheet, fill them, and put them in your freezer for about 3ish hrs. until they get a little firm and then push in the Popsicle sticks and allow them to completely freeze. The advantage of the molds is clear you immediately stick in the handles and you don’t have to worry about it until you’re ready to eat, but, as I say the paper cup method is a good one too, just peel off the paper cup when you’re ready to eat!

Did you make too much oatmeal? Want an easy way to use up your leftovers? This is an easy satisfying way to use up those cooked oats! Try experimenting with different types of flour and get creative with flavors! Have a chocolate fix? You can even replace some of the flour with cocoa powder!
