Vegetables & Sides

This is a fantastic recipe to break up the monotony of eating greens, it's hearty, filling, and COULD be a full meal in itself (especially if served with the optional bacon and a side of nice bread and butter).

A favorite of ours and when broccoli is in season there is no better side dish. Even children love this delicious salad.

Are you the type of person who doesn't think you like brussel sprouts? I encourage you to give this recipe a try and get some more delicious crucifers in your diet!

This is the way we eat greens in the south. Especially during the holidays. I have family members who come from miles around to enjoy these greens. Don't forget the cornbread!

If you are a true Southern Cracker there is NOTHING better than some  iced tea, cornbread, and, best of all, greens! While this is not a traditional southern recipe it still goes great with all the southern embellishments! Best of all you can use just about ANY greens (although softer are best).

If you have an abundance of squash and tomatoes you are lucky! Here is a recipe that will add some flavor to any meal and will help you use up some of the best flavors from your garden or local market!

If you think that it's necessary to purchase a "kit" to make coleslaw then, I'm happy you are viewing this website! All you need are some basic, easy to find ingredients that you might actually have in your home all ready. Your family will prefer this version, and you will be happy not have to use a "kit" with all those additives and tons of sugar.
