Soups

Soooo satisfying and filling. Can work for a summer meal or winter. Serve with it with avocado and plantains to make a more squared meal!

Curried Ovine (or Beef or Poultry) Stew

One of our family favorite comfort foods. When you add lots of curry spices, fresh ginger, and veggies you have a complete and nutritious meal. If you want to you can add some rice, or eat this stew with naan or another flat bread.

Pork Miso Soup (with recipe for slow cooked roast)

This soup is so nourishing you will make it again and again! It is a comfort food on a whole new level! Feel free to play with vegetable choices, just try and stick with vegetables that won't get mushy.

This is a Chili recipe to share and share again. Why? Because there is NOTHING better than a warm bowl of Chili on a cold day. But, this one is so good I occasionally make it even in the summer. Also, this is a "child friendly" Chili, in that it's not really spicy, just flavorful and delicious, the peppers used are the sweet or neutral type. Make sure you DON'T skip out on the peppers.   You can use your crockpot or you can use a heavy casserole /dutch oven with a heavy lid (my preferred method).

Simple, easy, comfort food style ingredients. If you love goat, lamb, or mutton feel free to change it up and switch the meat options around! Yum.

You could really use any small or medium chunk of meat for this stew. But, if you don't have any of that you could also sub in bulk sausage, ground meat, leftover chicken (probably best if you take it off the bone), hocks, really any meat would taste great with this recipe. But, my favorite way to make it is as is because of the wonderful flavor combination.
